ICON9 Trial - Check up the fifth

Another month, another check up. This sort of drama-free regularity I can live with.

A small handful of excitements this last month - a second Pfizer jab followed by some side-effect misery for 2-3 days but then bounce back to this new normal; a week out of London in Devon following the April 12 relaxation  of Covid restrictions; and a related spate of shop visiting. I had a haircut in Devon, an outdoor pub lunch in the sun, went into the deli, the veg shop and the chemist's. I've been so Covid-cosseted by family that I'd forgotten what it's like to have payment card receipts in my purse.

Meanwhile, the olaparib goes down twice a day at 9am and 9pm. I tend to feel a bit sick by two hours after  - elevenses helps in the morning and if I'm lucky I'm off to sleep in the evening. Some days are more nauseous than others, some less. There are more of the less nauseous days now, but some pacing is needed - a day or two of the more strenuous variety tends to be followed by a 'sick and tired' day.

I cycled in for today's appointment despite terrible traffic and think I will cycle home again too. Not having cycled for a week, this feels positive - like there's enough residual fitness and muscle familiarity to pick it up again without having to embark on yet another programme of working up to it.

Have seen the trial practitioner, seen the doc and all is well as of last month - Ca125 was 8. All is well with the fast results from today's blood and pee - quite pleased that haemoglobin has inched up to 130.  As usual will have to wait until next check up for today's Ca125.

Next amusement: scan on 18 May.

Just quaffing a nice mint tea in the Living Room while waiting to collect meds for the coming month, then meeting the daughter for elevenses at the Quaker Meeting House cafe as she's coming to UCL for her second Pfizer jab - it feels quite like old times...
